Classic Masters is a series of official singles released by Capitol Records. These 12 cuts come from the earliest Brit-beat period of Manfred Mann -- before they became Manfred Mann's Earth Band -- so one won't find "Blinded by the Light" here, but "Do Wah Diddy" and the raver "5-4-3-2-1" are, along with Bob Dylan's "If You Gotta Go, Go Now" and Gerry Goffin's "Oh No, Not My Baby." These songs have aged surprisingly well over the decades -- over four of them now -- and the sound is cleaned up extraordinarily.
