With great picks from artists primed for a breakout in the 2009.MALAJUBEThese indie Rockers from Montréal, Québec---Malajube--produce melodious Francophonic music. And as if that weren't enough, this group has gained some street cred when Roger Wireless put up their song “Montreal -40° C” in a commercial, not to mention "Ton Plat Favori" was in a Zellers commercial. After a quiet 2007, the

Well first off, I think it is worth mentioning I have no actual idea about who these guys are, what I do know is that they are from Quebec, sing in French and rock pretty well.If only I could understand a bloody word they are saying!I hear this song was used in a Rogers Wireless commercial but I have no idea what Rogers Wireless is either so thats no use to anybody

I don't really feel like making a real entry so I'll just say this.Went to see Malajube at Maxwell's last night. One of the best shows I have been to in months. Even though I couldn't understand more than three or four words coming out of their mouths [they sing in French and are from Quebec] it did not matter one bit. They are full of life and energy, and put on an AMAZING show. I can't wa...

And suddenly everything's coming up Malajube. Between this, and the return of Elvis Perkins (awesome album) and Lily Allen and etc., it's like '09 is crushing it at being '06. That year Trompe L'oiel finally pushed the Francophonic, highly hyphenated progressive-indie-jam-emo Canadians (their words) into the awareness of Americans, or at least those who ran blogspots and/or consumer electronic...

I just got sent a link to this video of Malajube playing a new song off their upcoming album. Now, I don't speak French and I don't have the album… so I'm kind of at a loss for what the name of this song is. They play it after about a minute of talking and [...]

We're still getting a read on Malajube's heavily rotated new album Labyrinthes , but the early favorite is "Hérésie," a dreamy, pretty tune that runs less than two minutes and sees the Francophonic genre jumpers at their most immediately lovable. Watch a live take on it (after a quick but fully Frenched-up interview) in this Bandeapart session .

Currently, Malajube is one of my favorite FAVORITE bands. i stumbled upon them from who knows where, and after one listen of Pate Filo i was hooked. i respect artists who sing in french, its a nice twist. too bad they're now being assaulted by the pop media- featured on myspace, an article in spin (which is a magazine i respect, but i'd honestly like this music more if it wasn't SO DAMN MAINSTR...

Just found out about Malajube today, a little late there… I know …but better now than never. Malajube are an indie rock band from Montréal, Québec, Canada. They sing in French and have three albums out on Dare to Care Records. They remind me of a more aggressively pop sounding Grizzly Bear. Jian, a sneaky [...]

Track:La Monogamie
Woops! So I posted the wrong song. But in my defense, it was my first post ever, so I think I should be allowed some leeway. Anyway, THIS song is La Monogamie, and is I think a much better introduction to Malajube than Le Metronome, which is what I posted earlier. Sorry! Enjoy this one, though, it's fantastic!
