This is my first funky friday post, so take it easy, it is, aleast, partly funky. This track is an electro party bounce from their first record. Wanted to attach this short peice from the current issue of Skyscaper about the Chicago band's 2nd release, Kontpab. The word is a mash-up of Karlheinz Stockhausen's Kontra-Punkte and Pablum. Chicago's Mahjongg, the afro-funky, electro-shocked post-everything outfit fond of bootshaking beats in odd-numbered time signatures, has a new album called Kontpab coming out in February on K Records. I have an early copy and it's totally, difficultly fabulous, but what you really, really want to do is see them play live.
