Matt Ward, known by his stage name M. Ward, is a singer-songwriter and guitarist who, until Summer 2006 was part of the music scene of Portland, Oregon. He has since relocated to New Hampshire. Ward was previously a member of the band Rodriguez with Kyle Field of Little Wings. The album, Swing Like a Metronome, was released in 2000 and produced by Jason Lytle from Grandaddy. Is there anyone out there making music that comes across as authentic as Matt Ward's? Part throw-back, all songwriter, M. makes kind of music that, decades from now, won't show the first signs of aging.

The strumming and finger picking steadily built for nearly 10 minutes before becoming the familiar "Duet For Guitars, No. 3" off of Transfiguration of Vincent. M. Ward's opener to his January 26th show at the Town Hall Theatre in New York put his virtuosic guitar skills on full display, and set the tone for a very intimate, special performance at an historic NYC venue well-suited for such things.
