Sooo....after the many discussions on whether the damned thing was called auto-tune or a vocoder, whether one was just a specific brand of the other, it turns out the CORRECT name for that annoying thing that T-Pain popularized is "The Robot Thingy." Who knew?
It's called "The Preview" because it's serving as an appetizer for his new album dropping this all. According to Luda himself...this is what's included on the mixtape. "You gonna get a mixture of freestyles, new songs, snippets from Theater of the Mind, [past] songs where samples couldn't clear and make the album" CLICK HERE to download
It's almost been two full years since Ludacris' last album Release Therapy, but he's about to release a flurry of music to make it look like he never left. Cris is preparing to release his sixith album "Theater Of The Mind", but first he'll drop a mixtape titled "The Preview" with DJ Drama. "Album number six is on the way. It's called Theater of the Mind," Luda said. "So with that said, we got the mixtape, The Preview — the preview to the damn movie. It's all about lyr... MORE
Billboard reported today about upcoming albums from Common and Ludacris, both of which sound tight as hell. Common gave the press a preview of 8 songs last night which Billboard describes as, "an electro-tinged departure from the MC's previous lyric-driven albums." Common told them:
"I created this music for the summer time, it's about feeling good," Common tells Billboard.com. "This is the type of music I felt was missing from my body of work."As for a new Ludacris al... MORE
Barack Obama has outed himself in the past as a Ludacris fan, but had to publicly condemn the rapper for a song he put out in support of the presidential hopeful. In the song called "Politics As Usual" (which you can download HERE), Luda says "Hillary hated on you, so that bitch is irrelevant," and "McCain don’t belong in ANY chair unless he’s paralyzed Yeah I said it cause Bush is mentally handicapped." Fearing a backlash from critics and republicans, Obama wasted no... MORE

Yo, I love videos like this! Artists should do these more often. Luda and Ninth in the studio, working on "Do The Right Thing" off Luda’s upcoming album Theater of the Mind (11/25). Common and Spike Lee also on the track. I hope this new Luda album is good! No Tags---Related Articles at Kevin|Nottingham: This Is [...]

It's clear that Obama has more musicians on his team than McCain. Obama has the support of most of the hip hop community plus part of the reggae scene and plenty of indie rockers while McCain is supported by Daddy Yankee. He tried to grab a few country singers too, but they threatened to sue him for using their music. I was going to report on the new Obama mixtape, but plenty of other folks have been blogging poetic about it. (It's called Yes We Can: Voices of a Grassr... MORE
Luda may have been out of the public eye for the last year or so, but he's definitely been a busy man. In addition to launchng a new music community for artists, he has a new album on the way and two major motion pictures. The ATLien founded "WeMix" earlier this year, which allows amatuer musicians to share music and allow their voice to be heard. Users aren't even required to own a computer in order to take advantage of the site, because you can upload music through your... MORE
"As Barack Obama has said many, many times in the past, rap lyrics today too often perpetuate misogyny, materialism, and degrading images that he doesn’t want his daughters or any children exposed to," said spokesman Bill Burton. "This song is not only outrageously offensive to Senator Clinton, Reverend Jackson, Senator McCain, and President Bush, it is offensive to all of us who are trying to raise our children with the values we hold dear. While Ludacris is a talented in... MORE
