Sam Buter, former saxophone player and arranger for Louis Prima, passed away today at the age of 81 in Las Vegas. Born and raised in New Orleans' 7th ward, Mr. Butera joined the Louis Prima band in 1954. He was responsible for the arrangements on such Louis Prima classics as "Just A Gigolo," "I Ain't Got Nobody" and "Jump Jive An' Wail."

Probably the best excuse is "they died before I got a chance to see them."Here's a few acts that I never saw but wish I did:1. Louis Prima - there should be a monument to him in Las Vegas.2. Marvin Gaye3. Bob Marley and the Wailers4. Django Reinhardt5. The Doors6...

Louis Prima is one of the many artists I would have liked to meet, just to get his take on things. This song came up on shuffle during our ride home from the Cape today and I figured I'd share it with y'all, dedicated to those that have loved ones far away. And the vid is just another example of Louis' smoking hot work.Louis Prima - I Wan'na Be Like You[via FoxyTunes / Louis Prima]
