I just found out that the inventor of LSD, Albert Hoffman, has died at 102 years old.
I'm not much of a psychedelics person myself, but I love psychedelic music, and the results this drug had on popular music , art and thought.
So thanks for unintentionally shaping culture through your quest to synthesize ergot.
I wish I had a better selection of some of the best music created with LSD, than I do here at work, but thank you anyway Dr. Hoffman.

I fell in love with this heartbreaking song
I'm sure there are many folks out there who can feel what Loudon is singing
It has been well documented that Loudon and his kids aren't on the best of terms and if you've ever listened to Martha's or Rufus's music, you can pick up on this
No man is an Island, sometimes it just feels that way
A free download from Amazon, certainly worth the price. Loudon has his issues He's toiled like the rest of us, often scratching his head and wondering
Loudon Wainwright III (yes, Rufus avoided being IV) recorded a series of songs for NPR based on "topical" events and released a CD of those songs called Social Studies. This little ditty was obviously inspired by the Beatles "Reunion" tracks Free As A Bird and Real Love, as well as other duets with the dearly departed. I thought it appropriate to present to a cyber-roomful of music lovers. Enjoy.
jesse's fav'rite paintin' is the one with the clown with the daisy in his hand and the tear runnin' down...Former North Carolina Senator Jesse Helms has given America a great Independence Day gift - he has left the building for good. Pseronally, i'm pretty sure that Jesse has gone on to hisjust reward, and he is never again going to need to buy any heating oil. Back in his days in the Senate, when Jesse was proud to be the most reactionary member of that body (outside, ... MORE
Here's a bittersweet song from Loudon Wainwright III. It's interesting because knowing that Rufus is his son, it becomes sort of biographical in both artists lives, although at the time it was written, I'm sure Loudon didn't know what Rufus would become. Fortunately, I am not anywhere near the tension between a father and son that develops when kids get older, but I'm sure it will happen someday it's just a part of growing up.
No offense intended to anyone who is a patron of this service, but if I could blow up one business in the entire world it would be E Harmony. I am most definitely not a hopeless romantic, but I do believe in fate and serendipity to some degree. And that creepy old guy and his monstrosity, E Harmony, spit in the face of fate and serendipity. It blows my mind that people give this guy money in exchange for a computer rendered 'soul mate.' Stay single and keep your dignit... MORE
