If you haven't already heard by now the stunning voice of Lou Rhodes, then you've been missing out majorly! Lou Rhodes was the lead singer in a Manchester electronic group called Lamb. They started out in the mid '90s as a drum n' bass genre group but managed to rise above that tag and encompass numerous styles under the electronic genre. I was really looking forward to seeing Lou Rhodes at the Jazz club, but I wasn't expecting to get blown away quite so completely... There's a quality to her voice that seems so strong but yet unreal, it just wraps you up and carries you away. It was a weird sensation, it sounds kinda cliched - but it felt how you'd imagine a tornado would feel (and no it wasn't the booze kicking in), or if you fell into a river (the rapid, maelstrom kind).
