I wonder how much SIRIUS satellite is paying Lou Reed for the radio show he will broadcast over the satellite radio network. Beginning this Saturday evening, May 17th, at 6 PM, (mark you calendars) for the premier of Reed's radio show. It will broadcast over channel 70 for "Lou Reed's New York Shuffle." Am I ever glad this one's over. I spent last Saturday and Sunday in bed with the stomache flu. Ruined my long weekend. Then spent all week dragging my ass at work, even made a couple of mistakes on the job which, while not critical, made me feel like a bonehead. Had to turn down every opportunity for socializing 'cause I couldn't keep much food down (let alone liquor). Needless to say, I need some rock'n'roll to kickstart this tired, listless ass.

MOG raged it up yesterday at the after party for the Julian Schnabel–directed film "Berlin,” which revisits Lou Reed's 1973 concept album of the same name. In the news these last couple of days I read of a little girl who won a contest for choice Hannah Montana tickets. She won with an essay which detailed how her father had been killed in Iraq, among other things, and that life was rough.It turns out the girl of eight(?) conspired with her mom to fabricate the whole thing.The Mom, defiant to the end, said "We did what we had to do to win". The keynote speaker for the 2008 SxSW Music Conference and Film Festival has just been announced - it will be LOU REED! The former Velvet Underground frontman and successful solo artist will kick off the music festival on March 13th with a keynote address. I will be attending this show on April 20th in Northampton. I was wondering if any other MOGs were going? Or if anyone knew the buzz on what he's supposed to perform? All I read in articles and see in interviews is that "He'll be doing a short US east coast tour, then go back to Europe to perform Berlin." So I'm not sure what that means for his US tour. Can anyone help?
