Los Tigres, Mexico-born but based in San Jose, are the hottest of all accordion conjuntos. Mi Buena Suerte is typical of their gutsy style, with a crisp accordion, a kicking rhythm with more bass and less bajo sexto than most groups, and a hokey sax on some numbers. Two good corridos are here -- one on "Cesar Chavez" -- but unusually, no song about la migra.
