So, I haven't really gotten into Little Brother yet, but I'm going to have to check this new album out when it drops. I liked "Good Clothes". I even went to check them out when they performed around my way. But the sounds system was pretty bad, so I couldn't really get into any of there other songs. Anywayz, I found this gem today on hiphopdx.com. So...yeah...it looks like it's officially illegal to release an album without having Lil' Wayne featured on it. I'm liki... MORE

I'm kinda wonderin' what it'll sound like since 9th is supposed to be MIA as far as full CD production is concerned.
Anyway, here's the play list.
1. Sirens feat. Carlitta Durand (angry song with a creepy chorus)
2. Can’t Win For Losing (neck... MORE

In 2006, a Hip-Hop superstar reiterated some feelings that Hip-Hop was dead. Apparently, in 2007, the genre/industry has been resurrected.
In a year that has already featured one of my favorite Hip-Hop albums of the last few years (Pharoahe Monch's Desire), that album probably won't even crack my top 3 for 2007. As it's been somewhat well documented on MOG , Common's upcoming album Finding Forever has the potential to out-do his last effort, Be as his best. That's di... MORE

Good for a laugh at the end of a busy week... Phonte from Little Brother could probably give Questlove from the Roots (QoolQuest on MOG ) a run for his money for who has the most diverse music taste in Hip-Hop (and/or Neo-Soul)... Phonte has this thing for covering 80s "classics," such as "Africa" by Toto and the song I posted about last Friday (A-Ha's Take On Me). Anyway, here's Phonte answering A-Ha's challenge of taking them on, apparently with the help of a Fisher ... MORE

I'll be on a plane pretty much all day tomorrow so I won't be able to post on Funky Friday, therefore I figured I'd post a song right now that kinda sits on the fence between Hip Hop Thursday and Funky Friday... I've been wanted to put something up by Little Brother for a while, because next to the Roots & Talib Kweli they are my basically my #1C Hip Hop act. This song, Flash and Flare is off their mixtape album, Chitlin Circuit 1.5, which although it's not at the l... MORE

Little Brother... I've heard the name mentioned before, and I've actually heard this song, but I didn't connect the two until tonight. I was reading about BET and how the music video for "Lovin' It" was banned because it was deemed "too intelligent" for their target audience. Stuff like that makes me hate BET , aka Black Exploitation Television... and naturally I was interested in music video banned for its intellegence. But to be honest, I wasn't really too impressed with... MORE
