Newly Joined to MOG - A bit about me

I am a full-time student in mechanical engineering, and I am a creative writer, busy revising my first real novel. My favorite band is Lifehouse, and I own the four main albums and have just begun to collect the rare unreleased songs that are out there.Even though Lifehouse is my all-time favorite, I find Arcade Fire is best for writing to, and John Mayer and Jack Johnson are excellent for relaxing to. My first ever cd was Billy Klippert and the second ever was U2, best of ... MORE

Let's lose the boundaries between genres, decades, styles and eras. We're all here with goals, and have enough trouble defining and reaching them without imaginary borders between us. How many of you have defined someone only by their musical tastes? Maybe not many, but we need all the help we can get to stick together.

Okay so music and a bad heartbreak goes together like a pint of ice cream and a break up. But the sad thing is there was no break up or make up. It's just hanging out there in the fucking wind blowing around getting bigger like a kid with bubble gum seeing how big of a bubble he can get. I don't want it to end and much less end this bad, it's bound to end after all the shit this week. I pulled a Trey on him and didn't realize it until this very moment. What a piece of shit... MORE

This is a track by Blyss, the band that now records under the name Lifehouse. I personally think it's really nice (with lots of good imagery). Enjoy!

i've been sitting here, watching the snow fall, which is actually quite the understatement because i'm in the middle of a blizzard. literally. worst storm in a couple of decades. it's pretty insane out. and i've just been trapped here due to this blizzard. i don't even know if i could leave my house to go to a neighbors, seriously. and they live literally 2 feet to my left. it's crazy out. it's the apocolypse

Yep, I gotta work on this holiday. Luckily just till 1, then I can spend the rest of the afternoon working on organizing my hard drive, making Bree's Mirah CD, and sowing the button back onto my peacoat. And I have tomorrow off! We're listening to Lifehouse at work. Remember them? The first time I ever heard them was during our family vacation back when I was 16 (six years ago?!). We went on one of those Disneyworld cruises. At first I was real shy, stuck close to my fa... MORE

Blog post image previewI've liked this song so much ever since first hearing it on the radio because it speaks of the uncanny effect an attraction to one person can have: we become immune to the presence of others.

Blog post image previewAnd today you move on to the next step in your life - joining the National Guard. I know the next few months will be hard, but you will persevere - you won't give up. And when you return, I'll still be here waiting to see the wonderful man you will have become..I love you, Sam.
