Liars just announced that they will open for Radiohead at a handful of shows in the US in May. The trio of art-rockers are riding one big wave of success after another - last year they toured extensively with Interpol, then headlined a tour of their own, and recently won the Plug Independent Music Award for Avant Album of the Year! _The Liars, Liars LP (Mute Records) has seen quite a lot of light these days on the review circuit, both printed and electronic, since its release on August 28 of this year. What I have read had spiked my curiosity. I continued deeper, further into the bands history and finally settled on 2004s They Were Wrong, So We Drowned, skipping over Drums Not Dead, and their newest one that interested me in the first place._

Liars rocked an extensive tour in support of their fourth album and most recent release, Liars, and opening for Interpol. That just doesn't seem good enough for a band of Liars calibre and I think they agree, because they have just announced a proper headlining tour of the US for 2008. even for people who didn't really like this album a whole lot, there's almost always the disclaimer of "i like 'plaster casts of everything'" usually followed by "'but the rest didnt grab me" but 'that one' track is great.... yes it is.
I like the liars. i think i might like their image a bit more. they take great photos, their dvd for "drums not dead" was pretty great, and they do everything they can to look the part of a band doing the crazy-but-... MORE

Interpol and The Liars are beginning their joint tour tonight in Albany, New York. Both bands will perform together until late October in Los Angeles. After the co-headlining fun is over, Interpol will head out on their own and tour until early December. The Liars recently released a self titled disc, while Interpol dropped an LP earlier this summer.

The long awaited update to the new LIARS website has finally arrived! The page looks great too - nice job guys!
