It's this simple: Vinnie from Less Than Jake was/is totally upset about the way the US economy is faltering (and, real talk, who isn't?) and he was consumed with figuring out how to cheer you the fuck up. "What did...

Variety is the Spice of Music

Okay, so let's review which bands I've mogged about so far...ColdplayDeath Cab for CutieGrooveLilyYesHendrix (for the 4th of July)Miles Davis Mostly kind of gentle music, right? Well, except for Hendrix. And that's cool, I like gentle music. However, I have a very varied taste in music, and I must say that it keeps things interesting. So, I'm going to introduce you (if you haven't heard them already) to a band called Less Than Jake. Don't know how many moggers listen t... MORE

More From Less Than Jake

I think that one of their most criminally overlooked albums from the past few years has been B is for B-Sides.B is for B-Sides is a collection of tracks that were left out from their album Anthem, and I really really like those songs (except "Jay Frenzal"). It's kind of like Anthem, Part Two... but not. The style is an interesting blend of their older stuff and their newer stuff. You hear a lot of fans arguing about which "Less Than Jake" is better: the old or the new. Thi... MORE

Less Than Jake played a free show at my college April 14th. It was one of the best shows I've ever been to and the crowd really responded. LTJ played really well even though they were drunk, playing songs from all times of their career. I'm also surprised at how many college kids were getting into punk/ska (about 3000) and I took advantage of the opportunity to crowdsurf multiple times, destroy the mosh pits on piggyback, and just go crazy in general. None of that sta... MORE

Reminiscing. . .

Artist:
Track: Look What's Happened
So it's been exactly 6 years since I've started playing drums. I don't know why I felt the need to say that, but as I go through a large pile of music and various drum-related accessories, I remember how it first was when I started playing. Being 10 years old, and getting a drum kit for the first time. I remember that I thought it was the most amazing thing ever. And most of all, I remember sitting on the stool and not knowing how to play even one full beat. I've come a ... MORE

I would personally like to thank Bronx for that great album review! Especially for a band thats not amazingly big (I'm talking Greenday, Madonna, or even smaller ones like Tool, compared to those, LTJ is tiny) And besides, it saves me from having to type words. ...Like I'm doing now... Damnit Either way, thanks a lot! And yes, In With the Out Crowd is a great album.

this album has been criticized by many people because of ltjs downhill horns decline and very polished sound, but i think that it turned out very well. i just saw them play the warped tour and they sounded amazing.at first this album sounds like crap but it grows on you as you listen to it more. soundtrack of my life 8/10:at first i didnt like this song when it came out,and i didnt think it would be a good opener but it has become one of my favorites. one of the things... Warped Tour 2006

So my brother and I are heading to the Warped Tour, July 30th in Chicago. We're mostly going to see LTJ, but the rest of the line-up doesn't disappoint. With so many bands and an inability to see them all, how do you decide? Let me know who I need to see, or even how you split up your time at a multi-stage concert. Keep listenin'.
