Taken from 1959 San Francisco nightclub performances, this is highlighted by his pokes at The Steve Allen Show and the phone company. The centerpiece, though, is "The Palladium," a sketch about the tacky showbiz elements of the London Palladium which goes on for 20 minutes, a nearly unheard-of length (on record at least) in the late '50s. The entire album is contained on the CD reissue The Lenny Bruce Originals, Vol. 2, which pairs Togetherness with most of the 1960 LP American.
Hard to believe that no one has ever posted about, much less a track from, iconic comedian Lenny Bruce, who OD'd in 1966. But it's true. Here is the longest and funniest bit from his LP "Togetherness", mocking the vanity of show business. 50 years since it was released, even someone as aged as I don't get all of the references, but that's no hindrance. Warning: it's 19 minutes long, but worth it.
