All Music GuideThis is a set that Lee Konitz collectors will definitely want. The distinctive cool-toned altoist is heard in Stockholm in 1951 performing with a variety of fine Swedish players; best known is pianist Bengt Hallberg. The set is rounded off by a version of "Lover Man" that showcases the altoist with Stan Kenton's orchestra in 1953. The recording quality of these radio broadcasts are quite good and Konitz is in top form for the period.
