All Music GuideAltoist Lee Konitz has recorded quite a few albums throughout his career in Scandinavia. His cool tone has been very influential in that region of the world and there have been many Scandinavian jazmen whose styles are compatible with his. For this set, Konitz (who doubles on soprano) joins forces with Jens Sondergaard (who plays alto and baritone), guitarist Morten Hojring, bassist Hugo Rasmussen and drummer Bjarne Rostvold for three standards, two of the altoist's songs, a few group originals and some lesser-known material. Konitz and Sondergaard work well together, making this a date easily recommended to cool jazz fans.
