I've always loved this song, which is off what I think is Led Zeppelin's masterpiece, Physical Graffiti.

"The Music Nerds" has turned out to be quite the fan favorite. People have been asking me about how I wrote this one. The truth is I didn't write anything. When I brought my friend Matt Dorfman into the sound studio he had no idea what he would be acting in. I told sound-guy Mark Vitelli to be prepared to quiz us beginnings of the entire Led Zeppelin catalog in our headphones. Mike the Knife said something that got me thinking, and I'm gonna post my question here, in the context of Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five making the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the first hip hop artists so honored:
What rock artist should be the first in the Hip Hop Hall of Fame? Without giving it much thought, I can think of three: Bo Diddley (original rapper), Johnny Cash (attitude), and Led Zeppelin (for the samples).
I managed to catch Zeppelin's The Song Remains the Same on Fuse this afternoon. And it reminded me that I've been wanting to get a Zeppelin education for a long time now. I know the basics... Stairway to Heaven, Whole Lotta Love, Dazed and Confused, Kashmir... but I need some help really getting into the rest of the band's catalog.
