I got black-listed and barred from all the clubs in Birmingham. I was so keen to play, I'd play for nothing. But I played the way I wanted.
John Bonham
Bonzo climbed his stairway to heaven on this day 26 years ago. This is the way he wanted to play...
And that is exactly how i want to remember John Henry Bonham play!

If I were ever to be a percussionist/drummer, there's one pinnacle for me to emulate:
John Bonham.
Boundless energy, bottomless well of variation and rhythm, and as expressive as a drummer has ever been...
Of course there are others who are good - across many genres and ages... but John's style, prowess, and execution have not been rivaled (for me, at least).
His son's awesome, too!
