Lauryn Noel Hill (born May 25 1975 in South Orange, New Jersey), is an eight-time Grammy award winning musician, and record producer. She initially established her reputation as the most visible and vocal member of The Fugees, then continued on to a solo career, releasing The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill and the MTV Unplugged No. 2.0.

I wanted to get a burrito, but I made the mistake of calling my friend en route to the joint and being saddled with her carrying on over the pathetic state of her current relationship. I wound up driving all over this city and watching as every eating establishment flicked off their "OPEN" signs. What was I supposed to do? Fake diarrhea? Lauryn Hill has hit a sour note and just can't seem to recover. She performed a free concert in Brooklyn on Monday night, but even without exorbitant ticket prices, the crowds just won't take her slack. Sean Kingston, the Jamaican teenage who recently gained #1 status with his innocent hit, "Beautiful Girls," but I imagine the crowd just sweated him in anticipation of Lauryn's appearance. Will someone tell Lauryn Hill that starting a show two hours late is soooo late Ninties. In this modern day and age where people are spending $100+/month on Blackberry bills and up to $350 a concert ticket, who's gonna care if a $40 Lauryn Hill ticket goes to waste? According to the San Jose Mercury News it was more than a failure, it was an absolute train wreck. Following years of self imposed exile, in the last few months we've been getting bits of news about Lauryn Hill activity. First she scheduled a few European shows, then she scheduled a couple of California shows and finally her reps said she was working on a new solo album. What do you all think of Lauryn Hill? her "tranformation" and what not? Do you think she is crazy? Some people thought so after they heard her Unplugged album...which is much different than her work with the Fugees and WONDERFUL solo debut "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill", yet to me it is just as good. The Fugees singer has added 2 shows to her ...not so full schedule of performances. One will take place at Oakland's Paramount Theater, and another Pala's Palomar Theater in late June. Last week, hill announced 3 UK shows that will take place in July. If you know Ms.Hill , you should know theres no telling if you'll ever see her perform again, so you may want to jump on these.

Fugees songstress Lauryn Hill has announced three concert dates in the U.K. that will take place in July, NME Reports . Although Hill has not dropped an album in 5 years, she performs new material sporadically, and is reportedly working on a new solo release, as well as an untitled Fugees project.

So I'm covering Saturday's Soul-Full festival in West Palm Beach. The lineup is pretty impressive: Al Green, Lauryn Hill, The Roots, India.Arie and others. I've never seen any of them so I'm psyched about this one....and about finally seeing Lauryn Hill. Her Unplugged album's been in heavy rotation on my iPod.
