So last night I had the pleasure to not only have Langhorne Slim order a drink next to me, but to see him and his band, the War Eagles, perform in the intimate, hole-in-the-wall known as Mohawk Place. It was an exciting night for these gents, as they would later in the evening be watching themselves perform on the Late Show with David Letterman. Got my ticket today to see Langhorne next week for a mere 8 dollars. Eight dollars. That's it. The 'convenience' charge alone for the Raconteurs show I went to yesterday was over eight bucks.

I just read that American Idol winner David Cook scored 17 of the Top 200 Downloads last week on the digital music charts...
Unbelievable...no, scratch that...actually WAY too believable, and predictable...and a little depressing.

'restless' just keeps pushing forward. 'hello dearest love' this is a couple years old, but it is a great opener from a decent album. I think i am in love with laura marling's voice

I love this man and the songs he writes about dysfunctional love. His fragile, trembly voice fits the characters in his songs to a tee.

Its those simple and in earnest songs that sometimes never leave you. Langhorne Slim has crafted just such a song. Admist his take on alt/punk/country or whatever they are calling it these days, Restless, from Slim's 2006 "Engine" EP, is that simple song that doesn't aspire for great art but honesty. And while all of this may seem pretty hokey, trust me, if the guy at the party who always has to break out his guitar started to play this song, it could easily inspire a sing... MORE
