All Music GuideA well-sung but uneven album from legendary songwriter Lamont Dozier. Dozier didn't get his momentum going as a solo act until the next album. This was his introductory vehicle, and it served to let him work out the kinks. Everything except the lyrics was first-rate; his vocals, the production, and the arrangements worked, and Dozier sounded convincing on the uptempo tunes and compelling on the ballads.
