Changes are on the horizon for two major American music magazines. Rolling Stone announced a major design overhaul yesterday, which includes ditching their famous large format pages. It is said that the move was sparked by slow ad sales and news stand purchases. "It feels to me just like a natural step for us to take," said Will Dana, managing editor at Rolling Stone. "It's always exciting to shake things up a bit and to grow and to do things differently." Are ... MORE

Exit 13 was originally supposed to be released in 2007 with 50 Cent acting as executive producer, but 85% of the album was scrapped and reworked. 50 Cent is no longer overseeing the project but will still appear on a song or two. Exit 13 will also be the first album from LL to feature a "parental advisory" sticker since his "G.O.A.T" album in the late 90s. In this interview discussing the album, says he took a 2 year break from acting and all the extracurricular stuff to... MORE

New LL Cool J Video: Rockin Wit Da G.O.A.T

Free music video of Imagine That (44)
I remember the first piece of music I ever purchased (with my moms money) was an LL Cool J vinyl record in the late 80s. Twenty years later, LL is still making music and can rip the mic if need be. Rockin Wit Da GOAT is a street single off LL's thirteenth album titled "EXIT 13".

Blog post image preview LL Cool J stopped by Shade 45 on Sirius radio to promote his new album Exit 13. "Jason from Miami" called in and had some fun with LL, before revealing himself as Eminem. Eminem and LL have a little lovefest expressing their admiration for each others work and all that good stuff. If you're a fan of Eminem or LL it's a good listen. They agree to hook up for a pow wow session during the interview, so maybe a song collaboration will result. If the player below doesn't wo... MORE

Blog post image preview No:491 - LL COOL J - RADIO (1985) The first of two LL Cool J albums in my treasured countdown. This album marked a kind of resurgence for Hip Hop/Rap in my opinion. After the magical emergence just a few years before with Flash, Afrika Bambaataa, The Sugar Hill Gang etc, the genre needed some fresh faces, some new vitality. Cue a 17 year old kid, who ditched school to record the album, a new record label (Def Jam), and an exciting new producer (Rick Rubin). and create th... MORE

Blog post image preview Still upset that his last album Todd Smith flopped, LL Cool J has been taking his frustrations out on Def Jam Records for the last few months. LL sticks by the claim that his album was not properly promoted, and the new executives at the label (including Jay-z) dropped the ball. A song leaked recently featuring LL and 50 cent, where LL took shots at the company he's called home for the last 20 years

In addition, Cool J's next album Exit 13 will be his last Def Jam e... MORE

Blog post image preview ...I've finished all of my running around and am kickin' in the cut...hey, it's still Thursday, yo...so check this Hip Hop classic from LL Cool J's debut Radio LP...man, when this shit came out in '86, nobody was really slicing in guitar riffs like this outside of Run DMC (also from the borough of Queens) not bad for a 16 year old punk who wore leather emulating Grand Master Flash & the Furious 5-- check the way he's working the breath control at the end of his verses...th... While the statement isn't particularly surprising, it IS refreshing to hear. Prior to this LL Cool J interview, the only artist I can recall that flat out said one of his album sucked was DJ Quik. During a mixtape DVD taping to promote his new album Exit 13, LL let loose about his musical catalog.
"Have I ever made a garbage album? Yes. But you know what, when you make 13 albums, it's pretty hard not to make a couple....3, 4, 5... pieces of shit! If it's not, who else is do... MORE
