LCD Soundsystem have released a new video for their single, "Someone Great" to be released October 22, 2007 in the UK. The song will be the third single off their critically-acclaimed second album Sound of Silver, which was released in late March of this year. I think figure-skating rules have been applied to the new release by LCD Soundsystem. That is, the judges (critics) were so pre-disposed to love it that they graded it higher than it actually should have been. Unlike a lot of music writers, overall I think the CD is a disappointment, and it leaves me a bit flat. But having said that, is does have one fantastic song: "Someone Great". I am trying to go back and listen to the LCD Soundsystem double CD, but I still dont get into that album quite like I enjoy Sound of Silver. I enjoy at least 4 songs off of SOS whereas I could only really get into a couple on the self-titled disc.
So, here is a tune from Sound of Silver. I will emphasize once again, go get this album when it comes out. If you remotely like this song, you will like the album.
