I watched the Klaus Nomi documentary _Nomi Song_ this weekend. A fellow mogger (can't remember who) a while back recommended it and I watched it. I knew a few songs by him but by and large I didn't know anything about him. I was surprised at how much of this took place in New York in the mid to late 70's. I'm a big junkie for documentaries from or about this period. Whether it's about art,...

Later, Klaus Nomi took it on. Nomi was a brief hallucination some shared in the mid-80s. He took a better than decent album cover photo, sang in an impeccabl...

I worked in a Peach's record store in high school and discovered Lene Lovich's album Stateless when Stiff Records did a marketing blitz in the store. A year later I saw Klaus Nomi's video of Simple Man in a video bar. Intrigued, I bought the album not knowing what to expect.Nomi was a German living in New York City during the early to mid 70's. He grew up listening to American pop and classi...

Last year I watched The Nomi Song, a documentary about Klaus Nomi. He was a new wave artist I completely missed when growing up, along with pretty much everything else on that wave. Anyway, I thought that the movie was pretty interesting and tragic, but suffered by not showing his performances or videos all the way through.Thank god for YouTube.I still haven't decided if he's actually good or...
