While i was searching Feist's stuffs, Keren Ann is one of similar artist. I had heard her album, Nolita (2004) but did not get into much. .....having recently posted on the incredible voice of Emma Pollock (ex-Delgados), I started thinking about other incredible female vocalists... At the top of the list, along with Ms. Pollock, I would put Kate Bush, Neko Case, Nina Nastasia and Keren Ann... ..There are, of course, many, many more out there... including a bunch of new bands that I've recently gotten into... ...it's all rainy and cold out here today..very un-L.A...since I've got a little writing to do anyway, I've slapped on Keren Ann's Nolita LP and everything's in it's right place...I got turned on to Keren's outfit back when I used to scribe for this eZine called AtomicLife...I think it was back in late 2003 or early 2004 when her people shot me a copy of this particular album which was then forthcoming...The set remains one of my favorite kicking-back-while-it-rains joints... i just discovered keren ann yesterday. i'm so sad she's been around since 2000 and i just now heard her music for the first time. this girl is awesome. her first few albums are all in french and her newer ones have mostly english songs. she has one of those voices that makes me want to leave everything i'm doing, pick up my guitar and sing my heart out hoping something magical will happen. i need to have at least 3 lives to do everything i wanna do...sigh*

keren ann is an artist i personally haven't heard of before, since i read an article about her in a magazine a few days before. now as i have downloaded her new album i must say that i am very impressed of this dreamy music. as music speaks louder than words check the second song of her album, with a nice reminisce to nico, velvet underground and mazzy star ....
