This is a great album and Kelly Clarkson is a great artist. When I listen to this album I can feel what she feels. You can hear her breaths in the pauses unlike the massively edited artists. She sounds the same live and on her albums, a truely talented artist. Hopefully she'll go down as one of the greatest artists of all time cause she totally deserves it. Her song writing ability is amazing as well.
I remember Kelly Clarkson saying she wanted to move away from her young American Idol fanbase, but I didn't expect the shift to happen so quickly. Clarkson's friendship with Reba McEntire started during the first season of Idol and has since grown into multi-faceted relationship. The two women recorded a duet called 'Because of You,' which hit No.2 on the country charts last month. Clarkson also ditched her management team to sign with McEntire's husband, Narvel Blackstock... Well yeah... Kelly has decided that maybe it wasn't the best idea in the world.
Kelly's new management has revealed the singer will release a pop album early next year with songs chosen by Clive Davis, who appears to have buried the hatchet with Clarkson. Ke... MORE
How is it that I never heard Frank Loesser's "Murder He Says," a riotous song in which a girl is rattled by her fella's slangy romantic vernacular, until Woody Allen used it in a scene in "Crimes and Misdemeanors"? So I go looking for a recording of it, and I find a version by Anita O'Day (another mystery: my never encountering that before), and a video clip performance by Betty Hutton, whom I adored in Preston Sturges' "The Miracle of Morgan's Creek," but never really i... It's been a bad week for America's original American Idol Kelly Clarkson. First she fired her manager, The Firm's Jeff Kwatinetz, and then her tour was canceled due to weak ticket sales. This also follows rumors that her label J Records hates her new album, My December and label exec Clive Davis offered her $10 million to go back to the studio and re-record 5 of the album's songs. Clarkson, who has sold more than 15 million albums world-wide, has insisted on writing all th... MORE

Hmmm.
I wonder if Mike Watt will be on the next try? You have to worry about Sony (ok, not really) but if Kelly Clarkson is that big of a deal for your label...

One of the time-honored traditions in my family is that someone always winds up the hospital at Thanksgiving. The offending ailments have ranged from broken bones, sliced-off appendages, and anxiety attacks-Oh My! And this year was no different, other than that I was the lucky winner of a trip in an ambulance. And Johnny, tell them what what I won?! Food poisoning! Blech. Literally. And no, it wasn't my Mom's cooking. It started on my way home from Las Vegas on We... MORE
As I anaesthetize myself with the soothing gospel charms of Justin Timberlake's "Losing My Way" (really, this is a fine song), I can't help but notice that the track currently being karaoke-screamed-en-masse at the party across the way is "Since U Been Gone" by Kelly Clarkson. I hate this song. I don't believe I've hated a song more than I hate this one since it came out. Not even "That's My Word" by Keak Da Sneak (maybe my least favorite song of 2006) inspires this le...
