Two summers ago, I think, my aunt gave me "Under the Iron Sea" as my birthday's present. I was so happy. I had listened a few songs before that, but never have a very clear idea of them. Now, I can say that I can't have my mp3 without their songs. I love their sound.
A cristal ball will show me my music way. I think that in my short life I have chosen the best music for my taste. I hope this will continue.... MORE

A friend of mine gave me "Hopes and Fears" a few summers ago and I have great memories of road tripping up through the Northern Kingdom of Vermont wailing all these great tunes while driving empty, winding roads past huge, amazing lakes. I think "Everybody's Changing" is my favorite. It's the most poppy, it's has great swoopy chord progressions and it's eminently sing-alongable. Rock out, Brit boys!... MORE

Im 19 years old. Needless to say I'm at a crossroads in almost every aspect of my life. Things that could be meaningless 10 years from now or could tell if turn out to be a bitter bitch 5 years from now. There's the ex you know you should d leave but refuse because of the security or whatever. Matche with the new interesting and then some that could be /should be better than what you have. -The bad choice of major you made that would make you money but hapiness is ... MORE

Last night, my sister Lauren and I went to see Keane. Now, I go to a lot of shows. It's pretty ridculous in regards to the sense of how much money I spend on tickets. However, Keane is something special. Not only are they one of my favourite bands in existance, but it's something I share with my younger sister. She, in fact, was the person who got me in to them. I wasn't a fan when we first saw them, but they were coming through Los Angeles, and I told her I'd take her ... MORE

I walked across an empty land,
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand.
I felt the earth beneath my feet,
Sat by the river and it made me complete.
Oh, simple thing, where have you gone?
I'm getting old and I need something to rely on.
So tell me when you're gonna let me in,
I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin. I came across a fallen tree,
I felt the branches of it looking at me
Is this the place we used to love?
Is this the place that I've been... MORE

Let me know if my family is just unique or if everyone's family is like this. This is how I know I am in a musical family. My father steals my cds all the time. He has stolen everything from Ozzy Ozbourne to Deathcab for Cuties, to Live, to Bush. When I come home for the holidays I find him barbecuing to Snow Patrol and/or Pearl Jam. My brother is a dj on the side. He has kind of led me through all of my phases in musical growth. He was the first to lead me into grunge a... MORE

Today was a lovely day. I succeeded in buying two pit tickets for the Keane show at the Wiltern. The pit sold out in a little over ten minutes so I'm happy. Squeeee. Tom + Mariel = TRUE LOVE FOREVER .

I signed on to Myspace today and there was my favourite bulletin in the entire world. Keane Announces N. American Tour Dates. That's right. My favourite boys in the world, no, universe, are coming back and their Los Angeles date was one of the few that were announced. I'm kind of disappointed that it won't be at the Greek, because I love the Greek, and Lauren and I had pit tickets for the Greek show that got cancelled when Tom went to rehab. However, I will not p... MORE

So it snowed today, and yesterday and the day before that. Snow=no school for two days, and finally a chance to get into the holiday spirit. If you haven't noticed, my recently played playlist is almost entirely composed of christmas music. It's been fun. I had time to play in the snow with my little sisters, walk the mile and a half to starbucks with the parents and even make some gingerbread men, all while entertaining myself with the sweet sounds of the holiday season. In ... MORE

To anyone that's heard the new Keane album: Does this album sound like a serious cross between Coldplay and Rufus Wainwright to anyone else?
-
So I guess Keane's "postponing" a good bit of their US tour because the frontman, Tom Chapman, is entering rehab. Good game, Tom.

If you happen to be in the OC and looking for a place to kill some time i highly suggest you check out the koi pond at Fashion Island, Newport Beach. It's a nice balance, right in the middle of a busy outdoor shopping center but somehow peaceful. I like it. You will too :)... MORE
