I saw Kate Nash in May at the Showbox and like the title says, she played everything at warp speed! It was a good show, though considering how charismatic her songs are, in person she seemed very demure and... not so charismatic. Though I think I remember her saying this was her very first show in the U.S. and granted at one point during a new song she did scream, "You don't have to suck dick to suc-ceed!" repeatedly while thrashing around on stage for a good fi... A sunshiny break-up song that I can dance to. I've listened to this song 18 times more than you today. I can't help it: cuss words, biting cynicism, jangly piano, hand claps, the hypnotic accent. Oh, dear. I can’t help noticing that British singer-songwriter Kate Nash has been taken to task elsewhere on Mog “for singing in her accent”. Allow me to retort. It’s not _her_ accent, it’s _somebody else’s_. That’s right, darlings, she’s faking it. The lovely Kate Nash recently visited the Spinner studio in NYC and performed a series of songs acoustically. But instead of piano, she played an acoustic guitar. During her visit, she played 'Mariella,' 'Birds' and 'Foundations.' You can watch video of it here, jump over to Spinner.com to see some beautiful glossy photos of the sweet singer.

After a mini-tour of the US earlier this year Kate Nash is returning to the US for a month long tour that kicks off April 15th in Atlanta, GA and includes a stop at Coachella on April 26th. Kate Nash's tour will be part of The NME Awards Tour, which in the past has been billed with acts like Kaiser Chiefs and The Hold Steady.
