KasabianEmpire"Shoot The Runner" Those who have read these pages are well aware of the steps I have taken to improve my physical condition. I won't belabor the point, as to not bore you more. But I will add that I'm doing something I've only discussed with one other MOGger, but she's family, so I knew it would be cool. So, here goes ... Tomorrow, I will be running my first competitive race, a 10K here in Wichita. I'll be honest; I have had butterflies in my stom... MORE
Wiki wiki:Tom Meighan (Kasabian's singer) is notably famous for calling The Strokes' lead singer Julian Casablancas a "posh fucking skier", the now defunct London based trio - Test Icicles as "King's Cross rent boys", Pete Doherty as "a fucking tramp" and The Automatic as "horrible" in an NME interview. Kasabian also criticised My Chemical Romance in a October interview by Bizarre in the Sun after being told the quintet were heading for No. 1 in the UK, claiming that they ... MORE
If I'm gonna make a mash-up (and if I can make one), I'm gonna call it "I Predict I'm Gonna Shoot The Runner With Pink Bullets."
I wonder how it'll sound like..
...for those of you that missed Kasabian live at the BBC Electric Proms;

http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=1866800263 Kasabian live in Melbourne at The Palace. A bloody brilliant gig. The band where so up for it. I left the venue shaking. Testiment to how good the gig was the boys released 2 x live tracks "Empire" & "Processed Beats". Just so happens I also recorded "Empire" on my phone. Quality is shocking but if you can get used to the initial noise you might just enjoy it. Tom tells us how much he... MORE
This is going to be short and... well crappy... but anyways I just finished listening to the new Kasabian album Empire. First impression? Not bad but at the same time nothing really stood out. Parts of the album reminded me of Primal Scream, but besides that nothing else really occured during my listen. I'm not saying the album is bad, it just lacked any songs that really stood out that much besides maybe the last track. I have a feeling if I read any professional review... MORE
STOP!
I said it's happening again
We're all wasting away
We're all wasting away And so goes the chorus of Kasabian's driving new single "Empire", out last week in the UK. Anthemic, beat driven, great hook performed by the strings, and including a characteristic fade out to a few instruments right before a final fist-pumping chorus -- this song is going to be a winner live. It's a call to action featuring a very politically minded video, even more explicit than "Club Foot... MORE
OK, so yes, this is total lad/lout rock from the UK but it's sooooo good ... here's a link to the video for the single "Empire": I'm not sure they are that well known in Canada or the U.S. They released their first album in 2004 which I quite liked but it received mixed reviews ... very 90s Manchester influenced so if you're into that, you will probably like that too. But I saw them on tour when they were supporting that album based on how amazing their live sh... MORE
I heard about MOG this morning from a band that was on 89.3 The Current and one of the band members was talking about MOG as being a good source of marketing their music and connecting with other individuals.
Not sure what to think quite yet. The site looks better than myspace, that's for sure.
