Almost 25 years after her death, neo-folk pioneer Judee Sill's estate has released a compilation disk titled ??Live In London (The BBC Recordings 1972-1973)??(Water).Judee is yet another example of an artist tragically taken in their prime, and being celebrated posthumously. Anybody who hasn't heard the wonder that was Judee Sill should really do themselves a favor and buy either 'Judee Sill' or the follow-up, which I think is slightly preferable, 'Heart Food". Both those albums are... well, it's been said many times before, but she is a female Brian Wilson or he is a male Judee Sill. They're just stunningly beautiful. It's J.S. I don't have anyone to fill me in on great female singer/songwriters, I have to try to discover them myself and it's been hard… in my eyes, one of those few and far between great ones was the late Judee Sill.Si.
Judee Sill was discovered in the early '70s and recorded two cool albums. She never broke through though. This live recording is from a brand new live album of recordings made, you got it right, in London in the early '70s.
