prior to joss stone's newest album, i have to admit, to me she was one of those chicks that has a raw ass voice, but after two or three songs you just want her to shut up. I was watching German TV the other night, and saw Joss Stone performing her new single. Whilst I'm no major fan of hers, her performance here is top notch. It's a shame the studio audience are so flat, perhaps they didn't recognise her. The bubble perm and dark locks probably fooled them.

I've seen a few great "female artists" lists on here and there are a lot of great women on those lists. But one that seems to be missing is Joss Stone. Yes, she's young but the girl has soul running through her veins. I have some friends that didn't listen to her at first because of all the hype, she's young, she's pretty, she's a fad, but once they heard her they realized how great she really is. OK, so when I heard the hype about Joss Stone, I stayed away. Most overrated album of the year, I heard. MOR radio pap, I heard. Soul music rip-off I heard. 16 year irish gal tries to sing aretha, I heard. So I stayed away. A few years later, when nobody is watching, I checked out the album. damn, man, it's good! don't tell anyone I'm listening to it. I want them to think I'm digging the new thom yorke instead...

the future sounds soulful and music to my ears

I was recently introduced to Joss Stones' "The Soul Sessions," and have quickly gotten addicted to her voice and her lyrics. I couldn't believe she was only 16 when she recorded this album.
