This is off the Experimental Remixes EP when a few mid 90's alternative types remixed tracks off the JSBX's Orange LP.This first Blues Explosion Remix, Flavor pt. 1, was done by Beck, pt. 2 was remixed by Mike D. Moby, Killah Priest (Wu-tang), Dub Narcotic, and UNKLE also remixed for the project. Some mad cap fun for you this Friday, I feel Lee Perry's specter all over this.
jon spencer is a freakin' genius. his creativity is unparalleled. crazy r&b. he totally reminds me of howlin' wolf. crazy howls. I put Jon Spencer and Jon Spencer Blues Explosion and Blues Explosion on random shuffle, and all this crazy music is different. He's definitely not rehashing his own sound. I mean, there are certain characteristics that jump out, but it's all crazy different.

A little Mog love for the JSBX. This is quite representative of their early punkish groove-blues style, complete with unintelligible lyrics. In the end you get what they were trying to say, pretty much nothing except that their lives are pretty cool. What a great drummer!
