Star Wars composer John Williams returned to the cosmos in a very different vehicle via 1986's SpaceCamp. A rousing, deeply patriotic score celebrating the spirit and courage that galvanize man's exploration of the heavens, it's one of Williams' most stirring efforts, with the epic scale and depth that define all of his most memorable projects. SpaceCamp boasts a majesty that wonderfully communicates the vast mysteries of space and the heroism of those who explore its enigmas. The swooning strings and surging brass of the main theme are a fanfare for the uncommon man, while the luminous "In Orbit" evokes the awesome beauty of the universe and humankind's tiny place within it.
