Went to see John Scofield and the Piety Street Band last night at the Handlebar in Greenville, SC. Great show. I was surprised. I know John Scofield pretty much as a straight ahead jazz guitar player, but the music he and his band played last night was a mix of jazz, blues, and gospel with a strong New Orleans feel.
