How Old Is Rock Music ?

(14)
Blog post image preview When I was out in the car this morning I was listening to a collection of old blues and r'n'b records on the King and Federal labels. Artist:
Album: 5/5/77
Track: Chicken & Gravy
(110)

He's playing with a guitarist named John Garcia. Sounds a lot like John Cippollina (Quicksilver Messenger Service & Zero), but it isn't. Anyway,... MORE

Back home safe and sound, and very tired from a late night of tequila and boom boomin' on the dance floor at my favorite blues dive, thanks to Garrett Mason, son of legendary (in our minds) Dutch Mason. Good times. And I caught some wicked sunsets both on the way down and way back. These ones are from Friday. Boom boom boom boomI'm gonna shoot you right down, right offa your feetTake you home with me,put you in my houseBoom boom bo... MORE

This video is the best I've seen from this mid sixties period. As Jerri Blank would say, Hobo . . . . Hobo Camp! It's Hobo Blues.

Stream of Consciousness

Blog post image preview The inspirational is hard to obtain.................growing up in Southern California has been interesting, to say the least I’ve never felt as if I belonged here. You walk outside and some kid hands you a flyer to his show at ......wherever. Entertaining enough, I wonder if this kids dream obtainable? I’ve seen many bands and I wonder to myself, what does it take in order for a band to achieve and truly unique and diverse sound?............and I feel that if you’re reall... MORE
