The above, totally generic video for Jimmy Eat World’s (aka JEW - oh how we lol’d) song Always Be seemed absolutely hilarious to me at 7am this morning, probably because of the dude’s CP30-like match at around the 1 minute mark. Have you ever heard a song so great that it changes the way you look at the world? A song so good that it gives you hope, not only for music, but for yourself? A song so good that it can be a light for you when everything else is dark. In 2007 i found just a handful of those songs, and Jimmy Eat World's Dizzy was the greatest of them all. 2007 was an interesting year in music. For me it didn't really have that one definitive album of the year. That album that was 5-star tracks from start to finish. Last year that was Butch Walker's "The Rise & Fall". The year before it was Jack's Mannequin with "Everything In Transit", and the year before that, yet again Butch Walker with "Letters". So I know I haven't posted here in a long time, but today I was walking around campus--of course seeing the people who are really into Halloween all dressed up--and loving the beautiful weather we have right now. Sooo after Futures came out in '04, My "Jimmy Ears" were molded to a newer, stronger, more refined Jim and Crew and I liked it. Not to say that Clarity and the fine pieces of work before and after it weren't great as well, but Futures brought in a new era, and so in that tradition, Chase This Light enters the collection. I have yet to sit down and have a "session" with this album as I like to call it, where I put on some coffee, turn out the lights, put on my headphones ... MORE

Yes that moment is almost here! For Jimmy Eat World to release another album which will be called "Chase This Light" on 10.16.07, nearly 3 years since "Futures". I don't know about you but I'm excited and to top things off they just released their single "Big Casino". It's awesome! Who else is excited!?
