All Music GuideRecorded in Zaire in 1987 and released in the U.S. in 1999, Shout For Freedom consists of four seven-minute-plus tracks (actually only three songs, since one of them is presented in two versions) on which Jimmy Cliff is accompanied by the African groups the OK Jazz, the Grand Zaďko, and the Afrisa International. The result recalls Graceland as often as The Harder They Come. At less than 31 minutes, it's more of an EP than a full-length album, but makes a pleasant mixture of styles.
