I was at Songfacts, looking at recent posts, when a question came up for a song containing the days of the week. A YouTube link to The Students' "Every Day of The Week" solved that question, but Thursday remained. A poster mentioned Jim Croce's "Thursday," which I hadn't played recently. It's a bluesy song about "The F Word" and being last in line, romantically. No wonder most of the Google! searches for "Thursday" point to "thirsty Thursday"!

The newest member of the Lehigh Valley Roller Girls is Anna Phylaxis (aka my wife Tami).
I would like to thank everyone for their input, especially zarpex who came up with the name.
As soon as they are made I will be sending him a team jersey with my wife derby name on it.

There are some songs that sound written just for that singer. This Cover Sunday entry is a Jerome Kern/Oscar Hammerstein II classic that Jim Croce seems to know all too well.

A post at the Songfacts forum asked about musical heroes in general and Kurt Cobain in particular. Looking over how low the bar is for Celebrity and Super Star status, I suggested that one should pick one's hero(es) with care, or not look too closely at their personal lives. For me, a bonafide working class hero is/was Jim Croce, who wrote about ordinary people who lead extraordinary (and otherwise unnoticed) lives.
