In a recent post on his personal blog, Swedish indie pop goofball Jens Lekman recounted meeting with actress and rookie director Drew Barrymore:There's a few of my songs in Drew Barrymore's directorial debut Whip it. Drew was really nice, she flew me out to LA, we had a cup of coffee and she showed me some clips from the movie. Usually I say no to film synchs because you just get a short synops...
Photo by David GreenwaldIt’s time to sip on the sweet nectar of DJ Jens’ summer jamz. While dude’s taste is immaculate, the best bit of this 30-minute set is the preview of a studio version of Jens’ “New Directions,” a track he’s been playing live that’s no less energetic here. Word is he’ll have a [...]
From his Jens Lekman's blog: I picked home one last souvenir from South America, it's called the H1N1 virus. Wrongfully known as the Swineflue. I was crossing the Atlantic when things started getting really bad, the fever was hallucinogenic and shaking me like a leaf and I grabbed the sleeve of the Air France steward. "I'm not feeling well, I should see a doctor" I said and the reply came as a ...
Jens Lekman has been placed in quarantine for ten days after picking up swine flu on tour in South America. Writing on his blog he said he experienced hallucinogenic fevers, fainting in the bathroom and the ignomony of everybody else keeping a circle of distance on the aeroplane.

Jens Lekman: Night Falls Over Kortedalaby Andres Jauregui • December 17, 2008Jens LekmanNight Falls Over Kortedala(Secretly Canadian, 2007)It's been a year since Jens Lekman released Night Falls Over Kortedala, and even though Sweden's favorite chanteur hasn't yet broken into the American mainstream—to the tune of, say, ABBA—the buzz about him today is anything but oh so silent.Lekman has b
Just got back from Jens Lekman's SF show at Bimbos...I love this guy, but unfortunately...I think he was tired. Having gone to his show at this same venue last Fall, I have to say--while Jens is engaging, has beautiful pipes, and a solid band---last time was better...way better. He started out in charming fashion playing air-chimes and dancing along to his songs with choreographed hand motions-...
I cannot seem to say this enough, I am in love with this town and I had another great experience last night. I decided to break my Minneapolis show cherry by seeing Jens Lekman and Dave Fischoff at the Triple Rock Social Club, such a great way to do so.Going into the show I knew that Jens Lekman was amazing and had heard from others that he was even better live, so I had high expectations. As f...
Rating: (at the risk of losing all my street cred) 8.5I like to consider myself an equal opportunity music aficionado. There were times in my ignorant youth that, when asked, I would declare my love for "everything pretty much..except rap music. and country." It was later in life, when I discovered the joys of acquired taste, that I forced myself to sit down and actually digest music from the...
Well, this is it. For any Jens fan who also reads blogs that post about the Black Cab Sessions , getting Jens to croon this tune for the series was always to be the apex of punny possibilities. We couldn't resist mentioning it when Death Cab played for Black Cab , and according to the note that accompanies this performance, neither could the BCS's entire audience in most every piece of fan mail...

I have had this Jens Lekman album FOREVER and have just been sitting on it...not so smart. It would have been a great summer album...the arrangements and the lyrics are bouncy without being overtly poppy...the guy can really craft a song. And this one I especially love...
I find my self listening to Jens Lekman more and more everyday. His songs are just SO charming...offbeat, unique, often funny but always heartfelt...he is a breath of fresh air to say the least.Long live Jens!
I am in such awe of good songwriters. They make it seem so easy. But have you ever tried to tell a story with emotion and melody in under five minutes? Not so easy at all.I am have been listening to Jens Lekman almost non stop for all of this week. The guy is so gifted when it comes to crafting a song...here is one of my favorite tunes of his...This song really speaks to me too...I had a great ...
