I bought this album back in 1971. Superb songs, fantastic singing, brilliant bass, and Chris Spedding and John Marshall at the top of their game in support. I can't remember how well it did in the charts that year, but I knew a lot of people who owned it, and the popular support was enough to win Jack best vocalist of the year in the Melody Maker poll for 1971. How's this for a B&W post? His voice takes me back, but this music is of the present. Robin Trower is a nice substitution for Clapton in Jack's new power trio with Gary Husband on drums. Enjoy the new Jack Bruce and Robin Trower CD. It's almost like listening to a new Cream CD only with Robin's unique playing style and sound. Good combo, I say.
