... of the dulcet sounds of sweet slow jams. I listen to this song at least a few times a week, just because every time I remember it exists, I play it, and then wind up playing it again and again - just because it's that damned good.

It's been a long time hasnt it? Well i've been so very busy. school and work work and school, you know how it is. I can't even do the last review becacuse it's been so long hahaha, but i will say this: if you don't get "The Shining" by J Dilla you're missing out a whole lot of good music.

Monday morning. Sipping coffee. J Dilla on the iTunes. New review of The Fags' Light 'Em Up posted at Delusions of Adequacy today. Had a great three day weekend (thanks to yet another snow day last Friday). Did a good load of grocery shopping Saturday night for tasty dinners this week. Listened to an aweseome spread of discs last night in the five-disc changer while making/eating dinner with the fam. Oldest boy turns three years old on Thursday. Life. Is. Good.... MORE

i had a major "bought it months ago, got distracted, didn't give it enough of a listen, went back to it, and got blown away" thing happen today. on my flight back from la, i clicked "the shining" on my ipod and sat totally amazed. i have now played it 5-6 times in a row. there are layers to unpeel in this soul drenched groove slickness. what if i had not gone back to this today? how much i would have missed out! what possessed me to choose it? lupe/roots/j dilla ...
