Iron & Wine recently released a new video for their single "Boy With a Coin" off of The Shepherd's Dog (September 25, via Sub Pop).
The video features frontman Sam Beam playing guitar for a class of flamenco dancers.

I admit, I am a middle of the road Iron and Wine fan. I respect the rootsy acoustic start that Sam Beam started with. Although I have enjoyed it a lot, I have never really made the connection to his music that would inspire me to go all ga ga over Iron and Wine. One thing I have enjoyed ever since the purly acoustic "The Creek Drank the Cradle" (2002) is Sam's evolution into a full band sound. Each release since has hinted more at that full band feel. Sometimes I get really sick of music and hate everything I listen to. This happens occasionally and is soon gotten over, but it's kind of a problem when you have a radio show to do. I have been listening to Iron and wine lately.. Weather is gone bad here.. It is snowing and it's cold and I think I could't find anything more appropriate for listening now. If you're anything like me you resort to the most depressing music you can find after a bad breakup (or in my case being dumped). It only makes things worse... so why do I keep listening? I think it also forces me to find new songs in search of that one perfect song that will capture the feeling to a T. At the same time I keep listening to "Trapeze Swinger" by Iron and Wine because 1. The semester is coming to an end and I couldn't be happier. This semester has been annoying. Annoying because of many things. For one, the everyday trip to campus due to the fact that my dorm is off campus. Seriously, I can't describe how amazing this song is. I just never get sick of it..it gets better every time. I was reading some review about it the other day and people were saying things like "it gets boring after the first verse" and it's "too repetitive". It is long, it's nine minutes and some I think. But I just can't understand how you can call it boring and repetitive. This song is an absolute masterpiece. Sam's voice is beautiful and the lyrics are just incredible.... MORE
