I just saw Immortal Technique perform in Santa Cruz, CA. It truly was an amazing experience. Even my Phish-loving wife thought the show was incredible simply because of Technique's commentary. Personally, I have been a fan since Revolutionary Vol. 1 came out. I have a question though... Do the upper-middle class white kids that were huffing shit out vials and popping pills really get it? I was listening to immortal technique today and there is a track on the CD called beef and broccoli and its just him talking about his views on vegetarians and some other stuff. I pretty much agree with almost everything said in this whole track. By the way, If you dont listen to immortal technique, you should be. If Nick Cave and Johnny Cash birthed a lovechild [not THAT far-fetched a thought], their evil little offspring would be this band. It's pretty hard for me to more accurately describe the sound of this band past listing the names of Cave and Cash. MBD's songs all have a very dark vibe to them, even if the song is faster-paced.
