I took quite a few pictures through my rock-tutelage. It started in high school with the old kodak and proceeded through college when I graduated to a Mamiya-Sekor slr Most of these pictures only exist in an album. I'm trying to put them on digital. Did a first pass last week. By the mid-seventies, Bowie and Iggy had been, ahem, pal-ing it up for a few years. Bowie even toured with Iggy, doing piano and backing vocals. ...Care for a little pop art with your Iggy Pop?...Back when I lived in New York, the installation artist Spencer Tunick took one of his infamous mass nude photos in Times Square (I worked a couple of blocks over in a building on Madison)...this was a decade and change before I'd ever hear of Britain's Banksy but I think the two are going in similar directions with their work...check this video which was shot when Tunick captured the picture above...continued here

Just read the new bio of Iggy Pop "Open Up and Bleed." Think I'll hop in the shower and get that decadence off-a me! Needless to say I could hardly put the book down. Great photos too! Not much needs to be said about the influence of Iggy and The Stooges. I am impressed by his "indomitable spirit," as the saying goes.
