Juanita, Juanita.. & the Howling Bells.
No one ever really get to hype this band; with a rockier-sounthwest american sound, Howling Bells get to be known mostly in the Uk last year with their sophomore released through Bella Union, an independent record label located in the United Kingdom, having toured with bands like Placebo and Killers. Now HB are ready to release a new and fresh album, we hope its good ad their first work.

Well, here's one last music tip before Christmas....
Originally from Australia, The Howling Bells (in a fine national tradition) have come to the UK to beat us at our own game. They have provided suppport for Editors and Placebo in the past, so fans of those two (coughAnnacough) should give them a listen. I haven't made up my own mind about them yet, but for your delectation here is their myspace and the video for Broken Bones...

ok so when i was back at university as an undergrad i did this radio show (wednesdays, 11pm - 1am) and i called it "the double helix" because i am a science nerd. actually that was ok because come to think of it i'm pretty sure no one ever listened - everytime i had a cd to give away i would ask people to call in but no one ever did. and i had to put up with weirdo fellow late-night presenters... there was this one guy who called himself ben groovey, he was an old hippie-t...
