Well, it does mention Christmas in there somewhere. That works for me!

Guster, probably the most harmonic band that utilizes bongos ever.... They played on July 23 in B'ham, probably the most beautiful show I've heard. Ray LaMontagne opened for them, and his music is just amazing... of course he had his uncomfortable look about him, but I think it was b/c of all the drunk chicks yelling at him. I really felt bad for him, b/c he looked like that he would be more c...

In December, I bought two tickets to see Guster in Atlanta on Feb 17. I bought them because A) Guster is the most talented band I have ever seen live and 2) my girl didn't get to go with me when I saw them in Birmingham in August. And I got a lot of flack about it b/c Guster is her favorite band. So these were super secret surprise tickets for her... it was my 4 year anniversary gift to her ...

I thought I'd ask how people are doing to see if I'd get some sort of response. Most of you probably dropped out or something. So, how are you?Now that we're talking, or at least I am, let's talk about some "things."First, I was in a car accident. Not too bad really. An old lady in a rental car ran a stop sign and hit my rear passenger wheel. Then, after an officer says to me "We're not going t...

so....yesterday I got to meet a great bunch of musicians that form the band Guster. They sounded great and you couldn't ask for a nicer bunch of guys. This is the second soundcheck deal I've been to compliments of DAVE fm and it really gave me insight on how it just doesn't "come together" magically, it takes work, and it's cool to see people who care about their work. Truth be told, I never ...

I went to see Transformers tonight. It actually bored me. I mean, I was kind of looking forward to it, but it let me down. What with its massively noticeable product placement for every product and service under the sun (Apple, Ebay, Chevy, Porsche, GMC to name a few) and its use of orchestral music even though it wasn't that serious at all, and then on top of that using the music of Linkin Par...

Continuing with the theme of only ripping the best and most essential music to my computer: Yesterday I put in Guster's "Keep It Together" and thought I would listen to it through to see what was worth keeping. The answer, dear readers, is everything. It had been awhile since I'd experienced this album, so I'd forgotted how wonderful it is. "Keep It Together" is beautiful and brilliant. There...

sometimes it doesn't matter what the music is like or where it comes from...it just makes sense.

On Monday, September 17th, Guster played the Marquee Theatre at the north end of Tempe Arizona's Mill Avenue. I get the impression that Guster was not met by large crowds at their previous Arizona shows. This was different. While the venue did not sell out completely (well, it did on Ticketmaster), a few hundred loud and enthusiastic fans were in attendance. Guster seemed pleased with the good ...

There's this Guster song on my iPod that is only supposed to be six minutes long but some how phantomly turned itself into a 20 minute montage of wonderfully never ending Guster-ness.The six minutes of the normal recording is already this whimsical trip down the yellow brick road. ("Dorothy moves to click her ruby shoes") But when I'm sitting in study hall zoning out to Guster while pretending ...

I love Guster. I know lots of people who also love them, but sadly, they have yet to be "radio-friendly" on mainstream stations. Today, for the second or third time, I heard a Guster song while out shopping. After Christmas it was "Fa Fa" at Old Navy, and today "Satellite" in the frozen food section. I'm starting to wonder if their songs have some underlying melody that subconsciously induces s...

Guster is on the cover of the Improper Bostonian. It is freaking hilarious and you should probably check it by going to www.improper.com.

Video is from the free Guster concert at First Act Guitar Studio in the Back Bay. We waited outside in freezing weather for about an hour and a half to get into the guitar store, but it was worth it, for the kids of course. Tara bought gifts from the Christmas Tree Shop, a generic version of ‘trouble’ and ‘jenga’. I just hope the kids aren’t too particular on brand names. There was a mas
