I was one of the lucky ones present at the June 27th concert at the Skowhegan Opera House - but if you weren't, you can still hear the complete live concert courtesy of Maine Public Broadcasting. As I stood there waiting for the Gov't Mule show to start at the War Memorial in Nashville, Tennessee, many thoughts ran through my head. I had a front row seat and a pass to meet Warren Haynes (my personal hero). But not until the opening band walked on stage did I realize what I had just gotten myself into.

A 13 hour train ride got me to the venue at 10:30 ... I've missed the first six songs ... But ragged company was exactly right! I was my own ragged company last night so it was entirely appropriate. You all owe me a dollar. I am still so blown away by my 5 days in Vt. that only now can I even attempt to put words to it.

Hey all. I caught Grace Potter and the Nocturnals at the Newport Folk Festival this weekend, and I was nothing but in awe of Ms. Pottah. (she had on this navy blue dress and white boots...mmm). I'm gonna hold this girl up there with my girl Lucinda, and my other girl Feist. In fact, her vocals fall in between the two. While nobody has uploaded any video from the show, her performance on the Tonight Show should EASILY suffice. Like Jay said, "You clean up NICE!" ... MORE

Let me start by telling you that I grew up listening to Led Zeppelin and loved Robert Plant as only a 17 year old girl of that era could. You never could have told me then that I would be just as in love with this new version of the Zep classic sung by a women, and futher call it a searingly hot rendition more than good enough to compare with the original.
