Do you all know about this Philly Popped experience??? It's a weeklong Philly-centric music festival happening all over town, April 9th-15th. Of all the Philadelphia based "festivals" that we've seen, this one is definitely the top-a-most of the pop-a-most. My best friend runs this great record label in Philly called Honeymoon Music. They've been putting out some killer stuff from the Fishtown psychedelic scene for a couple years now, and just did a major site redesign. Have a look!

Whoa, major MOG delays and hangups here. I think this was posted 5 or 6 times, then lost again in deleting the multiple posts, and here it is again.... YES!!!! Coming March 6th, 2007...The triumphant release of Golden Ball's sophomore full-length album, The Antique Barking Swirls of Dawn. Smother.net says, "Folk rock anthems that are mighty and higher than you'd have imagined. Oh Yes!!! Here it is, the new video for Signature Abstract from the upcoming album The Antique Barking Swirls of Dawn. We had such a grand ole time filming this with director, and fellow mogger Magdalenus and our dapper guide, Lord Whimsy. Whimsy, seen below flying a flag of his own creation for The United Shires of America, took us on a rich tour of the Pine Barrens of New Jersey complete with visits to cranberry bogs, enchanted woods, and the occasional U.S. Army firin... Golden Ball (from l to r, Norm Fetter, Gillian Chadwick, David Chadwick) After months of searching, Golden Ball has completed our new line up. Julius Masri is now rocking the drum set and various percussive inventions, and Sarah Jacoby is tickling the synth keys. The new record, The Antique Barking Swirls of Dawn, is mastered and we're looking at an early 2007 release date. My very dear friends, Golden Ball just put the final master down on their new record yesterday at Fat City Studios in Blue Bell, PA. The new albums is called "The Antique Barking Swirls of Dawn". They're really excited about the new music; this is the first release since the 7" single put out late last year, and their second full length album. I've heard a bunch of the tracks, and it's bonified good listening. Very early Bowie meets T.Rex meets Eno. Keep an eye out for... MORE
