Not too many swell shows around town but there is the Datafrogs CD release show at Fletcher's. Other than that DC seems to be where it's at for a few events. Madonna has called up Gogol Bordello frontman Eugene Hutz to perform with her this weekend at the London leg of Live Earth, according to Yahoo news.Sergey Ryabtsev, the New York gypsy punk act's violinist was also invited to perform with the Material Girl this Saturday (July 7).The invitation from Madonna is appearntly linked to an unrelated project Hutz is working on with the pop star. In a recent interview at Glastonbury, Gogol Bordello's frontman Eugene Hütz spoke of many things. He countered rumors that he is a heroin user, mentioned how Bud Light ads apparently bother him, and brushed over the mix of influences in and outwards regarding his group's music.
